My mother is in the hospital. I don’t have the energy to go into details. The short story is that I think she’ll be alright, she’s just very sick. Assuming the incompetent hospital nurses and staff don’t accidentally kill her (which is, sadly, entirely possible).
I’ll be over here sleeping in a chair with one eye open, willing that little monitor to keep on beepbeepbeeping the rhythm of her heart.
Meanwhile, if you could say a prayer for a speedy recovery that would be excellent. I’ll write more soon. Promise.

Rita – I found your blog via Susan’s Working Closet…. I’ve never commented before but I pop in here and there to read your blog and enjoy your writing & “adventures!” Just wanted to say I hope all goes well. My mom was in the hospital the two weeks before Christmas off & on & got out on Christmas Eve. This is a woman who had previously been in the hospital to have my sister 35 years ago so not a sick woman typically. It was scary to have her not her self and not know what was wrong with her. The doctors didn’t even really know – they just kept guessing. Anyway, she seems to be on the road to recovery and all is back to somewhat normal. My thoughts and prayers are with you & your family and a very speedy recovery!!
